Imagine if every graduate -- from Physical therapy and engineering through to elementary school education and the use of digital media--was equipped with the practical ability to invent and lead social changes.  In a world where students are seeking jobs with the potential for impact, and employers are seeking graduates who have the core competencies of critical thinking, problem-solving as well as teamwork, how do universities equip each graduate with necessary change-making capabilities to deal with complicated social issues and the new challenges that aren't yet thought of?  CQUniversity has been five years into an ongoing process of integrating social innovation training and practice across all of our curriculum, rapidly expanding social change leadership capacity across Australian society.  Through integrating the attributes of social innovation like resilience and creativity, empathy curiosity, collaboration, and systems-thinking into every discipline - and the core social innovation content that is offered throughout each phase of a degree--we are made a commitment to educating each students to finish with ability and confidence to make positive social .

As the University has expanded it has a focus on integrating face-to-face instruction alongside distance education and delivery of online learning allows for opportunities for the majority of Australian students who otherwise not have access to postsecondary education.  In this way we have attracted an impressive portion of remote and regional students, those with low socioeconomic status, first-in-family as well as Indigenous students, which requires creative approaches to educational pathways and retain them.  The reputation of the University for its community involvement is evident in the way regional centres all over Australia "invite in" CQUniversity for innovative solutions to meet the local needs for education like when the tiny Victorian city located in Hamilton required nursing education provided locally to provide a long-term local hospital workforce, or isolated West Australian towns and companies that partner together with University to create shops-front study centers that provide local assistance for students who are just a few miles away from the closest University campus.  In each instance instead of prescribing an all-inclusive approach, CQUniversity adapts its business model to meet the requirements of its customers, employers in the area and students.
