As we progress along this continuous transformation journey Here are a few of the most important stepping stones that guide us, in a deliberate and incremental manner from strategy to implementation: 1.  A preliminary plan of action that is the Social Innovation Strategy 2016-2021 outlines an action strategy for the University that guides the development of social innovation programs across the University by identifying six pillars of work that include Education and Curriculum, Culture and Community, and Culture, Research, Leadership, Strategic Learning, Applied Learning and  The Strategy provides the necessary structures for governance and the staffing needed to ensure that initiatives in social innovation are well-supported. A committee of advisory members made up of outside leaders in social enterprise, community development and social procurement, guides and guides the work of the University. 2.  A commitment to achieving clear goals and a clear message in 2019: In launching the University's three-year strategic planning plan"Our Future Is You, the University set out its long-term goal "to be Australia's most accessible, supportive and engaged university, recognized globally for innovative teaching and research excellence.

3.  The standardized outcomes for learning: Supported through a graduated attribute in order to "develop a social innovation mindset" which is standard across any undergraduate program, our comprehensive initiative to change the curriculum (due to be completed by 2021) will produce 100 undergraduate degrees that provide the opportunity to experience the interdisciplinary field of social innovation and to apply it throughout a three-year  This goal and the KPI which is managed through the University Council, involves a extensive process of testing and improve pedagogy models design , which resulted in a collection of case studies demonstrating best practice.  Courses in engineering, business psychology, psychopathology, and criminology are integrating innovations in a way to ensure that they meet the pertinent discipline's focus and the requirements of accreditation for industry when required.  The concepts of Social Innovation are framed through an inter-disciplinary fundamental unit in year one and then into project-based learning in the second or third year. Through the development of common strategies to teaching social impact , we are able to reach the majority of the students in the undergraduate program throughout their academic studies. 4.  Sustained support for staff development Supporting academic staff to integrate changemaking into the curriculum and to understand the social innovation methods within their particular discipline requires a multi-faceted strategy.  The initial development of A Guide to Integrating Social Innovation within Curriculum provided a first toolkit that included language, skills and methods. Further, professional development workshops that include interactive workshops, video presentations and interactive media tools, and case studies will allow teachers to create learning opportunities that help students develop fundamental social innovation abilities and traits, such as empathy, creativity as well as systems-thinking. 5.  Celebrate early wins and capture them The creation of case studies of pertinent research results and changes to the curriculum and promotion of CQUniversity's achievement on THE Impact Rankings; celebrating the introduction of new social procurement agreements and focus on positive graduation outcomes have contributed to the normalization of activities that focus on social benefit.  With students and staff scattered throughout the United States, we believe that regular communications of our progress helps inform and unite every part of the University in the spirit of social purpose and reinforces the possibility for everyone to contribute the pursuit of success. 6.  A long-term commitment to resourcing Implementing organizational culture and skill changes of this magnitude require an ongoing financial and human commitment to resources.  The years of executive support and operational funds have made sure that the Office of Social Innovation team--comprising academic staff, practitioners and student ambassadors - is able to concentrate full-time on the development and delivering national programs and bringing in experts from outside to enhance program design and provide scholarships to students from all over Australia to take part in programs that are residential and with community partners.

In the beginning of the piece the authors Marina Kim and Angie Fuessel discuss the possibility of democratizing knowledge and the potential for anyone to become an influencer.  CQUniversity is a place where we believe that by CQUniversity we believe in providing education in social innovation to all staff members and community partners, and by the instilling of fundamental skills at every level that we can increase understanding, enthusiasm and acceptance across Australia.
